Hubli: A pensioners forum today demanded that
the pension under the employees pension scheme be increased to a minimum of Rs 5,000 from the present Rs 300 per month.
The present pension fixed under the scheme four decades
was not even sufficient to meet one square of meal taking
into consideration the present cost of living, Karnataka
Employees Pension Scheme Pensioners` Federation President
B.S.Ingale told reporters here.
He said the federation would take out a procession in
Hubli on December 10 to press its demand.
The Centre should amend the rules so that all the 5.50
crore retired employees under the scheme get a minimum of Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,000, he said.
