Kolkata: Expressing solidarity with the families who lost their children in the terror attack in Pakistan, people took to the streets in the city today to condemn it.

Carrying placards with messages like 'They went to school but never came back', several NGOs organised a candle light vigil in the Metro channel area.

Human rights organisations and women rights organisations took part in it and placed candles in front of posters against the barbaric attack on Army Public School in Peshawar that led to the killing of more than 100 children yesterday.

"We are here to protest against the terror act which killed so many innocent children. We should remember that terror has no religion, caste, or creed. It's a curse for mankind," said Swati Singh, a protester.

Kolkata district Left Front too took out a protest march from College Square to Esplande in the city.
