Burdwan: A headmaster of a school at Kulti in Burdwan district was today beaten up by guardians who alleged that the school authorities were taking bribes for admission of new students, police said.
The admission of students to class V in the Mithani High School at Kulti was to take place today at around 11 am. When the admission process did not start even after 1.30 pm, the guardians alleged that the school authorities were taking bribes for admission, the police said.
Some angry women entered the room of the headmaster and allegedly beat him up with shoes, they said.
The headmaster has lodged a police complaint in this regard, they said, adding that the admission process in the school stopped after the incident.
