Boeing 727 overruns runway in northern Canada no injuries

A Boeing 727 airplane with 55 people on board overran the runway as it landed at the airport of Iqaluit in northern Canada, the airline first air said.

No one was injured in the incident, which happened on Friday as the plane touched down after a flight from Ottawa to Iqaluit, in Nunavut, in the far north of the country.

“There was a lot of wind... and snow and the runway was soaking wet,” Said Denis Deroy, a spokesman for the Canadian transport security authority.

“The plane blew two tires as it overran the runway, but there was no other damage,” he adeded.
