Slovakia`s leftist Prime Minister Robert Fico said Wednesday that the European Union was no longer a safe place following the "onslaught" of hundreds of thousands of mostly economic migrants.

Brussels: Slovakia`s leftist Prime Minister Robert Fico said Wednesday that the European Union was no longer a safe place following the "onslaught" of hundreds of thousands of mostly economic migrants.

"The EU has found itself under the onslaught of hundreds of thousands of migrants and has ceased to be a safe place," Fico told parliament, insisting that "90 percent of these people are economic migrants."
