London: Three teenage boys were Tuesday charged with the murder of 67-year-old man of Indian origin
Ekram ul Haque, a retired careworker, in a racial attack in
south London.

Haque died last evening succumbing to his injuries, a
week after the shocking race attack by a gang of schoolboys
outside a mosque in south London on August 31.

The three boys aged 12, 14 and 15, accused of the
murder charge, appeared before the Croydon Youth Court today.

Kolkata-born Haque was brutally battered by a group of
teenagers outside the Idara-e-Jafferiya mosque in church Lane,
Tooting. At the time, he was waiting with his three-and-a-half
year old granddaughter Mariam for a lift to go back home after
praying at the mosque.

The three accused will appear at the Sutton Youth
court again on October 6.
