Beijing: Two Chinese mine workers who were found alive ten days after they were trapped under a coal mine shaft during an accident were rescued today and search is on for 10 others, the company officials said.

The two workers were saved by rescuers early this morning at the Zhengsheng Coal Mine of Shanxi Coking Coal Group in Fenyang City.

They were conscious and did not have life-threatening problems and are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital, quoting the company officials, state run Xinhua news agency has reported.

How they survived in the shaft were yet to be known as they were too feeble to talk, according to the company.

Search is still under way for the other 10 missing miners.

A total of 12 miners were trapped after a flooding in the state-owned mine on September 28.
