'Award Wapsi' row: Anupam Kher reacts strongly to returning of awards, says protest 'agenda' driven

New Delhi: The raging students of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) who have been voicing their dissent for the appointment of Gajendra Chauhan as the Chairman of the reputed film school have withdrawn from the strike but continue the protests in non-violent way.

This happened after ten eminent filmmakers returned their National awards in solidarity with the students of FTII.

Now, amid all this, actor Anupam Kher has reacted to a few tweets that targeted the actor for not returning his awards, to which the actor has answered rather stiffly.

The debate ensued when Priyanka Chaturvedi, spokesperson of All India Congress, questioned the patriotism of Kher, addressing him as a Kashmiri Pandit (KP). Kher was quick to answer back.

Check out the tweets here:

Definitely, Kher is not among the ones who would return their awards to show solidarity for a cause.

Kher also said that the returning of award is a political ágenda' and therefore, he would rather refrain from it.
