A lot of people are saying that 2016 turned out to be a year of celebrity breakups. Maybe, they aren’t aware of the love-birds who finally tied the knot this year. Yes guys, a lot of romance actually spilled all over this year.

Interestingly, a lot of showbiz personalities hitched this year. Some turned out to be glamorous and others were just hush-hush, but all of them were truly worth celebrating.

In January 2016, Bollywood actress Asin Thottumkal tied the knot with electronics company Micromax founder Rahul Sharma. Well, it wasn’t exactly a big fat Bollywood wedding. The duo exchanged vows in a strictly private ceremony.

Interestingly, hunk Akshay Kumar, who is also a close friend of the groom, attended the marriage as the best man.  Akshay and Asin were seen together in ‘Khiladi 786’ and ‘Housefull 2’. He reportedly played the cupid between Rahul and the ‘Ghajini’ diva.

Preity Zinta-Gene Goodenough

Unlike any other B-Town wedding, Preity Zinta’s marriage was a bit surprising. The ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ actress revealed that she is not more a bachelorette on the social media. Yes, you read that right. It all happened when her close friends started congratulated her on Twitter. This made Preity step forward and tell her fans that she is married now to Gene Goodenough.

However, in May, Preity hosted a reception in Mumbai for all her friends and family. The glamorous gala was attended by Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Karan Johar, Abhay Deol, Bobby Deol, Lara Dutta, Mahesh Bhupathi, Juhi Chawla, Yuvraj Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput.

Bipasha Basu-Karan Singh Grover

Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu got hitched with television heartthrob Karan Singh Grover at a private ceremony in April 2016. Later, a dazzling reception was also held in Mumbai.

Celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Preity Zinta, Malaika Arora, Genelia and Riteish Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt and Ranbir Kapoor graced the reception with their presence.

Urmila Matondkar-Mohsin Akhtar Mir

Yes guys, Urmila was also among the Bollywood beauties to remove their single tag this year. Her wedding turned out to be a quiet ceremony with just family and close friends in attendance. She is now married to Kashmir-based businessman and model Mohsin Akhtar Mir. Manish Malhotra was the only showbiz personality who attended her wedding.

"We kept it an exclusive wedding with just family and friends at the celebration. Since our families wanted the wedding to be a low-key affair, we mutually decided to keep it private. We seek your blessings on embarking this new journey of our lives," Urmila said in a statement.

Yuvraj Singh-Hazel Keech

This was one of the most celebrated weddings of 2016. The 'Bodyguard' actress married Indian cricket sensation Yuvraj Singh on November 30 at a Gurdwara in Punjab's Fatehgarh Sahib district.

It was followed by a lavish party in Chandigarh and Goa.

Divyanka Tripathi-Vivek Dahiya

Indian television actress Divyanka Tripathi tied the knot with hunk Vivek Dahiya in Bhopal on July 8, 2016. Their reception took place later in Chandigarh.

Kishwer Merchantt-Suyyash Rai

The much-in-love couple Suyyash Rai and Kishwer Merchantt got hitched on December 16, 2016. Their sangeet and mehndi ceremonies turned out to be a fun-filled affair.

Sanaya Irani-Mohit Sehgal

Sanaya Irani married her long time boyfriend Mohit Sehgal on January 25 in Goa. Their reception was attended by a lot of showbiz personalities.
