Mumbai: Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma celebrated their first New Year as a married couple in South Africa where India team has arrived to play a two-month long series against the hosts. The newlyweds took to Instagram to post an adorable selfie and wish their fans a very Happy New Year.

We can see the couple striking a candid pose against the backdrop of the stunningly blue sea and mountains.

Virat and Anushka tied the nuptial knot in a hush-hush ceremony in Tuscany, Italy on December 11. They announced their marriage by issuing a joint statement on the day of their wedding and thereby surprise fans and well-wishers.

The statement read: “Today we have promised each other to be bound in love forever. We are truly blessed to share the news with you. This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans & well wishers. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey.(sic).”

Soon after the destination wedding, speculations are rife that Virushka flew to Finland. Anushka even took to her Facebook page to share an image from their honeymoon. In the next few days, the couple returned to India to host a reception for relatives in Delhi on December 21. The gala event was also attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who presented a red rose both to the bride and the groom.

On December 26, the couple hosted another reception for cricketers and film industry colleagues at the city’s St Regis Astor Ballroom.
