Badminton ace Saina Nehwal enters quarter-finals of Swiss Open

New Delhi: Indian badminton queen Saina Nehwal reached the quarter-finals Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold badminton tournament being held at Basel, after registering a straight-game victory in women's singles match against .

Saina beat the Czech Republic player 21-18 21-17 in a 34-minute duel. The Olympic bronze medallist will next take on seventh seed Japanese Sayaka Sato.

Meanwhile, men's badminton player HS Prannoy too reached the quarters after beating Rajiv Ouseph of England in straight sets. Prannoy overcame the seeded sixth Rajiv 21-13 21-18 to set up a clash with 16th seed Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk of Thailand.

Sixth seed PV Sindhu, who also reached the quarter-finals, will meet China's He Bingjiao next.
