JNU row: After Yogeshwar Dutt, Gautam Gambhir and Vijender Singh, MS Dhoni speaks out

New Delhi: Amid continuing uproar on the issue of freedom of expression in the country, India's limited overs cricket captain MS Dhoni on Saturday called for respect to the armed forces.

Earlier, Gautam Gambhir, wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt and star boxer Vijender Singh too had weighed in on the issue.

Even Dhoni's Team India colleague Shikhar Dhawan had stated that nobody should speak ill about the country they live in.

Dhoni holds the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Territorial Army.

The 34-year-old's comments come in the backdrop of a raging debate on freedom of expression after an event against the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru was held at the Jawaharlal Nehru University campus where anti-national slogans were allegedly raised.
