New Delhi: Shivnarine Chanderpaul on Friday announced his retirement from international cricket, bringing the curtains down on a 21-year career.
Despite not having played international cricket since May 2015, the Guyanese remains the only cricketer apart from Sachin Tendulkar to have played over two decades.
The left-hander retired just 87 runs short of Brian Lara's all-time West Indies Test record.
As one of cricket's great warhorses walked into the sunset, here is what some of those who played with and against Chanderpaul had to say about him.
Congrats Shiv on a great career. You practiced the virtue of staying at the wicket & accumulating runs. Best of luck. #chanderpaulretires.
