Bengaluru: Indian football fans can look forward to a day of drama and exciting action, as new champions could be crowned on Sunday.

Sunil Chhetri's Bengaluru FC need a win over an inconsistent Salgaocar FC side to clinch their second I-League title in three years.

After East Bengal's 0-0 draw against  Sporting Clube de Goa on Saturday, fight for India's top-flight crown was reduced to a battle between defending champions Mohun Bagan and Bengaluru FC.

The Blues play second-placed Mohun Bagan in the season's final game in Siliguri on Saturday but could render the game meaningless should they beat Salgaocar at their fortress.

Safe from relegation and missing star striker Darryl Duffy, the Goan outfit is not expected to spring up a surprise against Ashley Westwood's men.

In the second game, bottom-of-the-table Mumbai FC will battle Shillong Lajong FC in a penultimate round I-League match at the Cooperage ground.

With two games remaining, the Mumbai club has a tally of 13 points from 14 matches in the 9-team league and would be keen to pick up all the three points to lift themselves away from the danger zone.

Shillong, on seventh place with 15 points, would also be gunning for a positive result to make their position safe.

The hosts have gone without a win since their success against Bengaluru FC in January.

The visitors have traveled to Mumbai without their key Brazilian striker Uilliam Souza Silva who is serving a suspension after being red-carded in the last game against Sporting Clube de Goa which they lost 2-5 last Sunday.
