New Delhi: Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi finally scooped the elusive La Liga's Player of the Month award for January.
The award was first introduced in Spain in 2013-14 season. And it was one of the few awards the 28-year-old Argentine has failed to win.
The five-times Ballon d`Or winner scored six goals in the league in January, including his first hat-trick of the season against Granada.
Interestingly, in November Messi`s team mate Neymar won the award in November, to become the first Barca player to claim it.
Real Madrid`s Cristiano Ronaldo has won it twice.
