BSNL to invest Rs 7,000 crore for setting up 3G, 4G wifi hotspots

State-run telecom operator BSNL will invest Rs 7,000 crore in setting up wifi hotspots integrated with 3G, 4G networks across the country over the next two to three years, a top company official said.

4G networks rise 36% in 2014; telcos tap 1800Mhz band

The number of operators offering 4G mobile services rose by 36 percent to 360 globally in 2014 and nearly half of these used spectrum in 1800 Mhz band to provide the super-fast services, says a report.
