'Time Bomb': SBI report urges SC to cap freebies at 1% of state GDP

The report is penned by Soumya Kanti Ghosh, the group chief economic adviser to State Bank of India. The report said that annual pension liabilities of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Rajasthan are estimated at Rs 3 lakh crore The freebies have exceeded 2 percent of GSDP for some of the highly indebted states such as Andhra and Punjab, said the report.
