Bharat Biotech to manufacture 2 crore doses of Covaxin at UP's Bulandshahr
Bharat Biotech to set up a new plant of Bharat Immunologicals and Biologicals Corporation Limited (BIBCOL) in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr. This new PSU will manufacture 2 crore doses of Covaxin every month. The central government will provide Rs 30 crore to BIBCOL for this project.

Consequently, the total size of the population that will now be eligible for vaccination would be 841.95 million out of the total population of 1,332.69 million. As per Ind-Ra’s calculations, vaccinating the targeted group may cost Rs 671.93 billion, of which the Union government is expected to spend Rs 208.70 billion and state governments together will incur Rs 463.23 billion. As a result, Indian vaccine manufacturers would now be supplying 50 percent of their production to the Indian government and the balance 50 percent would be available for procurement by the state governments and the open market.
