Madhya Pradesh reports first death from Delta Plus variant of COVID-19

The first death linked to the Delta Plus variant of COVID-19 has been reported in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday (June 23, 2021). There were a total of five confirmed cases in the state, out of which three were reported from Bhopal and the remaining from Ujjain.

ICMR, NIV to study if COVID-19 vaccines can neutralise Delta Plus variant

The ICMR and NIV will conduct a study to test the efficacy of coronavirus vaccines against the new Delta variant. The study is likely to involve Covaxin and Covishield vaccines.
