PM Modi flags off Ro-Pax ferry service between Hazira and Ghogha in Gujarat
PM said better connectivity between Saurashtra and Surat is going to change the life of the people in these regions. PM Modi remarked that the maritime business-related infrastructure and capacity building in Gujarat is in full swing. Prime Minister also renamed the Ministry of Shipping as the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.

PM Modi inaugurates Ferry service from Surat to Bhavnagar in Gujarat
PM Modi has given another gift to Gujarat. The PM today inaugurated the Hazira-Ghogha Ro-Pax Ferry Service connecting Surat to Saurashtra by waterways.

India and Maldives get connected by ferry service
The service connects the Indian ports of Tuticorin and Cochin ports with Kulhudhuhfushi and Male ports in the Maldives. PM Modi during his visit to the country in 2019 had announced the ferry service in the Maldives Parliament or People's Majlis. The visit was his first foreign visit after taking charge as the PM in the second term. India's minister of state for shipping Mansukh Mandaviya speaking at the virtual event inaugurating the service said, "Fulfilled the important commitment of PM Modi to the Maldives last year. The service will increase people to people contact between the two countries and assist in ensuring food security and stable and predictable trade for the people of Maldives."

Bengal government plans 200 modern vessels for ferry service
West Bengal has placed an order for 200 new modern vessels equipped with safety amenities and double engines to strengthen ferry services in the state, Transport Minister Suvendu Adhikari said today.
