Sheikh Hasina Verdict: The MEA issued a response to the death sentence verdict for Sheikh Hasina, stating that New Delhi has taken note of the ruling by the International Crimes Tribunal of Bangladesh and underlined that India will always engage constructively with all stakeholders.

Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said she was “deeply grateful to the Indian people for providing me with a safe haven” after her government was overthrown last year.

The 76-year-old Sheikh Hasina was forced to resign from the Prime Minister post after massive protests erupted against her government over a controversial quota system.
