Sensex falls over 150 points as markets open, Nifty dips below 11,300

Around 9:20 am, the Sensex traded 137.50 points - or 0.36 per cent - lower at 38,040.45 while the Nifty was down 36.60 points - or 0.32 per cent - at 11,276.70.

Sensex climbs 343 points, Nifty hits 8,000 on Fed rate decision

The benchmark BSE Sensex rallied over 343 points and the NSE Nifty regained the 8,000-mark in early trade today as financial stocks led gains on widespread buying by investors amid a firming trend at Asian bourses after the US Fed decided to hold off on interest rates.

Sensex heads for longest winning streak in nearly five months

The BSE Sensex rose on Tuesday, heading for an eighth straight session of gains, its longest winning streak in nearly five months, on renewed optimism over Greek debt talks, while state-run banks increased on hopes of capital infusion.
