NBA playoffs set to resume after protests, turn stadiums into voting sites
The National Basketball Association (NBA) and National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) announced that the NBA playoffs will resume on August 29. In a joint statement, the league and players said that they will work together to establish a social justice coalition and voting initiatives. NBA had earlier postponed the Game 5 of three different series after Milwaukee Bucks decided to boycott their playoff game to protest Jacob Blake`s shooting.

US President Donald Trump says NBA protest will 'destroy' basketball
US President Donald Trump said on Friday that what he viewed as political activity by the NBA would destroy the sport. His remarks came after NBA players halted play for three days to protest the police shooting of Jacob Blake, a Black man in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Trump further believes that people did not want to be confronted with politics when watching sports.

Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton will not boycott Belgian Grand Prix
Six-times world champion Lewis Hamilton said on Thursday he will not boycott Sunday’s Belgian Grand Prix. A wave of player protests against the police shooting of a Black man, Jacob Blake, in Wisconsin on Sunday. Hamilton's Mercedes team has also changed the colour of its cars from their traditional silver to black.

Western & Southern Open: Osaka pulls out of semis to protest racial injustice
Osaka's decision follows protests over the police shooting of Jacob Blake, a Black man, in the city of Kenosha, Wisconsin, on Sunday. The Japanese tennis star defeated Anett Kontaveit 4-6, 6-2,7-5 on Wednesday to reach the semi-finals. Two-time Grand Slam champion Osaka was due to face Elise Mertens in the last-four of the Western and Southern Open.
