SBI likely to cut minimum balance requirement for savings accounts

The rates of monthly average balance is Rs 3,000 for metros, Rs 2,000 for semi-urban areas and Rs 1,000 for rural areas.

SBI cuts interest rates for savings accounts by 0.5% to 3.5%

According to the new structure, for saving deposits balance up to Rs 1 crores, SBI will offer a rate of 3.5 percent as compared to 4 percent earlier, the bank said.
