Sonu Sood moves SC in illegal construction case challenging BMC notice

On January 21, high court judge Justice Prithviraj Chavan dismissed Sood's plea, saying law helps only those who are diligent. Dhanda insisted that his client is an ideal citizen who had carried many welfare activities, especially during the pandemic, in the past. The High Court told Sood's lawyer that he can approach the civic body and declined to pass any direction.

Bombay HC rejects Sonu Sood's plea against illegal construction notice

Sood's lawyer Amogh Singh requested the HC to direct the civic body to not initiate demolition action. The court, however, refused and said the actor had ample opportunity in the past and if required, he could approach the civic body. As per the BMC, Sood had carried out structural changes in the six-storey residential building 'Shakti Sagar', and converted it into a hotel without taking requisite permissions.
