What Is Prepaid Payment Instrument (PPI) That Will Attract Fee On UPI Payment?

UPI transaction over Rs 2000 via PPIs will attract an interchange fee of up to 1.1% from April 1, 2023, NPCI. Payment wallets like Paytm, Phonepe wallets, prepaid vouchers, smart cards, etc. are prepaid payment instruments. Loading money into the wallets via UPI will also be levied with an interchange fee from April 1.
