Islamic State attacks Kabul gathering, killing at least 32
It is the deadliest attack since the United Nations and Taliban signed a peace deal. A top Afghan political leader, Abdullah Abdullah, was present along with other key political figures and escaped unharmed. Some 81 people were wounded, a government spokesman said, adding that the death toll could rise.

US launches first airstrike on Taliban since Doha deal
Since the signing, the Taliban had decided on Monday (March 2, 2020) to resume normal operations against Afghan forces, though sources have said they would continue to hold back on attacks on foreign forces. The Taliban has so far declined to confirm or deny responsibility for any of the attacks and did not immediately respond to request for comment on the airstrike.

Iran opposes US-Taliban pact, says US had 'no right' to sign
After 18 years of war, the US and the Taliban signed an agreement in Doha on Saturday that paves the way for a 14-month timetable for the withdrawal of all foreign forces from Afghanistan, provided the militants open talks with Kabul and fulfil other pledges.
