The report further revealed that these workers are from Austin, Dublin, Singapore, and Texas and they were given the task to examine the reported chats.

WhatsApp unveils end-to-end encryption for chat backups on iOS, Android

WhatsApp end-to-end encryption feature for chat backups will be launched as an optional feature in the next few weeks to iOS and Android users. Currently, WhatsApp chat backups depend on mobile device cloud partners such as in Apple iCloud or Google Drive. WhatsApp will secure backups with end-to-end encryption before these chats get uploaded to the cloud services.

Now WhatsApp will get password-protected, encrypted chat backups soon

Now the messaging platform is reportedly working on increasing the security of its cloud backups by adding a password protection feature that is going to encrypt chat backups. As per the WABetaInfo report, this new feature is in the works and has shared some screenshots that show how this could be presented on WhatsApp on iOS and Android. The app will ask the user to confirm their phone number and select a password that is at least eight characters long.
