A Japanese tourist on Friday alleged that he was robbed in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi after being charged dosage of drugs.

LUCKNOW: A Japanese tourist on Friday alleged that he was robbed in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi after being charged dosage of drugs.

The unidentified accused reportedly absconded with all his belongings which included cash, camera, mobile, passport, visa and other documents.

"The culprit decamped with my belongings, including cash, camera, mobile, passport, visa and other documents," he said.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered with the local police.

Earlier this week, a group of French tourists were allegedly beaten up and molested in UP's Mirzapur.

However, police claimed that a woman from Varanasi and not foreign nationals were beaten up and molested by a group of miscreants.

According to police, four people were initially arrested in connection with the incident which occurred at Lakhania Dari waterfall in Mirzapur. Later, four more persons were arrested in connection with the incident.
