Raman Singh kickstarts polls campaign in Chhattisgarh from his constituency Rajnandgaon
Rajnandgaon is the constituency where the highest number of 30 candidates will lock horns, as per the data released by the Election Commission on Saturday.

RAJNANDGAON: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh kick-started his election campaign on Friday from Motipur Village in his constituency Rajnandgaon. In the keenly-watched constituency, the CM is pitted against Congress candidate Karuna Shukla, niece of former prime minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Singh will be touring across the state seeking votes for the party.
Rajnandgaon is also the constituency where the highest number of 30 candidates will lock horns, as per the data released by the Election Commission on Saturday.

While seeking votes for himself and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Singh assured that he will work to make the district a smart city in the next five years.
"I have come here to assure you that in the coming five years, we will develop Rajnandgaon even more and try to make it a smart city as well. I will get this city`s prosperity back. All eyes are here, everybody wants to know whether Rajnandgaon will elect me for the fourth time."
The Chhattisgarh Assembly polls will take place in two phases. Rajnandgaon goes to polls in the first phase along with Antagarh, Bhanupratappur, Kanker, Kondagaon, Narayanpur, Bastar, Jagdalpur, Keshkal, Chitrakot, Dantewada, Bijapur, Konta, Khairagarh, Dongargarh, Dongargaon, Khujji and Mohla-Manpur seats.
The eighteen constituencies going to polls in the first phase are spread across eight naxal-affected districts.
The first phase of voting will be held on November 12 while the second phase will be held on November 20. The counting of votes will take place on December 11.
