Ranbir Kapoor starrer 'Sanjay Dutt' biopic makes a whopping record deal!

New Delhi: The life and times of Bollywood heavyweight Sanjay Dutt will soon get a 70mm screen space. The titular role of Dutt is played by Ranbir Kapoor in the former's biopic and the fans can't get enough of it already.

The release date of Dutt biopic has been announced recently as March 30, 2018. Now, the latest buzz around the film is that it has struck a major deal with a studio. According to dnaindia.com, Fox Star Studio has joined forces with the filmmaker and the deal has been struck at a whopping Rs 180 crore.

Dutt biopic is helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, who has films like '3 Idiots' and 'PK' to his credit. The report further states that the studio is paying this price only for the film, the satellite rights will be sold separately.

It then quotes a source as saying, “Furthermore, the film’s profits will be shared 85-15. While Hirani will keep 85 per cent of the profits, the studio will get a mere 15 per cent.”

Interestingly, 'PK' was sold for Rs 110 crore which included the satellite rights.

Looks like Dutt biopic is already heading to a greener pasture.
