Mumbai: Well…this might sound unbelievable but it’s true. Salman Khan was taken on board Kabir Khan’s film ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ on Katrina Kaif’s suggestion.
The film that happens to be Salman’s first ever film with the Yash Raj banner, will see the flamboyant star romancing his former ladylove after a long time. The duo, whose on screen chemistry proved to be a dud at the Box Office is all set to sizzle the silver screen once again.
While talking to a daily, Salman confessed that it was Katrina who had asked director Kabir Khan to speak to Salman for the lead role in the film.
“To start with, it’s a fantastic film that Katrina got. And in fact, she was the one to — in a way — get me in ‘Ek Tha Tiger’. Katrina was the one to tell Kabir to come and meet me,” said Salman.
The Box Office king is apparently very impressed with Kabir’s work hence he agreed to team up with him for the superhit banner.
“I had watched some of Kabir’s videos when he was working on Kabul Express (2006). At that time, he had showed me a few shots – which he had canned — on DVD. A guy named Apoorva Shah used to work with Sohail Khan Productions. And since Apoorva and Kabir are good friends, he had got Kabir home once. When I saw his work, I had realised — immediately — that he has got something in him,” said Salman.
However, the filmmaker wonders why Salman is thanking Katrina for the role.
“Salman must have been joking. I don’t think anyone needs to suggest his name for a film. Kabhi kabhi woh tedhi-medhi baatein kar deta hai (he keeps saying whatever somes to his mind). But nothing of that sort happened.”
Hmm…Salman, now you make us wonder from where Katrina comes into the picture!!!
