Mumbai: Om Puri might have snubbed all reports claiming that he is all set to divorce his wife Nandita, but the actor is geared up to move-out and settle with his first wife Seema Kapoor. In news for all the wrong reasons, the actor stunned many as he stated that his wish was to spend his old age with his first wife. And desperate as he may be, not everyone is ready to oblige his demands as his ex-wife’s brother has opened fire at the actor.
Speaking to a news daily, Seema’s brother, actor Annu Kapoor, lambasted Om Puri as he said, “ Frankly, I am very worried for my sister. And what is this about wanting to spend his old age with her? It seems like Om needs a maid-servant, not a wife. It is something like I drive out my son when he is very young and then call him back years later because I need him to support me in my old age. Seema is my sister and is very dear to me. I still remember the day he falsely accused her. I brought her to my one room flat and told her, ‘Ye tere bhai ka kamra hai, aur aaj se yehi tera ghar hai’.” As to whether Seema is ready to forgive Om Puri, Annu said “Ab kya fayda bolne se? I’ll speak to Seema and see whether she wants to move in with him” When asked why Seema never remarried, despite being divorced from Om Puri for the last 16 years, Annu says, “She is a Hindustani girl. We’ve held on to our moral values. We are not from a family who marries someone’s sister, tortures her mentally, goes on to sleep with his maid and expects his educated wife to remain quiet. Yet she remained quiet - that is Seema’s biggest mistake.” Well, it seems Om Puri ‘maid saga’ is not coming to an end any time soon.
