New Delhi: The state-owned carrier Air India has ranked as the third worst performing airline of 2016.
The aviation insights company FlightStats shared names of best on-time carriers on the basis of their delay and cancellation pattern and service quality, in which Air India was found third worst international airline with 38 percent of flight delays in 2016.
The others in the list are Icelandair with 41.05 percent delays, Philippine Airlines(38.33 percent) Asiana Airlines(37.46 percent), China Eastern Airlines(35.8 percent), Hong Kong Airlines(33.42 percent) Air China(32.73 percent) Korean Air(31.74 percent)Hainan Airlines(30.3 percent)
Air India vehemently denied the ranking. “We totally disagree with the report published by FlightStats about AI,” Air India’s spokesperson Dhananjay Kumar was quoted as saying in a statement.
“Initially it seems that the report is fabricated, so AI management will investigate the report till the end", added the statement.
