The 59th match of IPL 2022 between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians did not had DRS for the first two overs of the first innings due to a power cut at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday. The toss was also delayed by the electricity issue at the stadium.

CSK were hampered by this power failure as they lost three wickets in the first two overs of the match. Devon Conway was dismissed LBW while Moeen Ali got catch out in the first over of the match against Daniel Sams. In the next over, Jasprit Bumrah removed Robbin Uthappa with an LBW shout. CSK could have taken review on two out of these three wickets but there was no review available due to the power issue. Uthappa even charged towards the umpire in order to find out if he can take the review.

The DRS was restored after the second over of the innings but CSK had already lost three wickets then.

Meanwhile,  Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to field first. CSK sit at the ninth position in the points tally, having registered three wins in their last five games. Their last match saw them register a 91-run win over Delhi Capitals.

On the other hand, MI, though out of the tournament, will look forward to playing a spoilsport for CSK and for the other teams by playing some fearless cricket during their last three games of the campaign. They have two wins in their last five games. In their last game, the side registered a 52-run loss against the Kolkata Knight Riders.
