Bollywood stars dazzle at Lakme Fashion Week

Lakme Fashion Week 2012 ended last night had a fair share of Bollywood `tadka` with several celebs walking the ramp.

Mumbai: The five-day Lakme Fashion Week 2012, which ended here last night had a fair share of Bollywood `tadka` with several celebs walking the ramp as show stoppers even as others cheered for their favourite designers.
Those who scorched the runway included Prateik, Dia Mirza, Malaika Arora Khan, Amrita Arora Ladakh, Tara Sharma, Amy Jackson, Zoa Morani, Shahana Goswami, Tanisha, Sonali Bendre, Sonakshi Sinha, Amrita Rao, Vidya Malvade, Madhoo Shah, Maria Gorretti and Mini Mathur.
It all started with Prateik walking the ramp for designer Masaba in a black and white bundhgala and patiala salwar. "Every time I walk the ramp I am nervous," the young actor had said. Then it was the resplendent Dia Mirza who walked the ramp for Gulshan Kumar`s daughter Khushali Kumar, who showcased a fairy tale collection titled Angels and Princess. Ending the show, she wore a gun metal side rouched gown with silver beaded bodice. Dressed in their traditional best, sisters Maliaka and Amrita Arora walked the ramp for designer Vikram Phadnis. Maliaka donned a black colour velvet full sleeve blouse teamed up with embroidered ghagra, while Amrita wore a cream lehenga. Designer Pia Pauro chose Tara Sharma to end her show and got the actreess to sport a gold metallic sheath. "For the first time I am walking the ramp so I was a bit nervous. I find doing films a less scary...when you have to walk quietly its quite scary," Tara said. British-model-turned actress Amy Jackson, who made her Bollywood debut opposite Prateik Babbar in `Ek Deewana Tha` walked the ramp for Bhairavi Jaikishan. Amy went traditional, looking beautiful in a sari. "I was comfortable wearing a sari as I had worn it in my first Hindi film. It felt like a princess. I feel saris make you look sexy and sensuous," Amy said. Newbie actress Zoa Morani, who was the showstopper for Payal Kothari, slipped while walking down the ramp. She was wearing an orange coloured short dress with high heels. She however, made light of the incident, saying "I am human and it happens." Actress Shahana Goswami of `Ra.One` fame, was showstopper for Debarun Mukherjee. She wore a white sari with graphic designs on it. Kajol`s younger sister Tanisha walked the ramp for Payal Singhal, who showcased her bridal collection. Tanisha made a graceful entry to end the show in a spectacular black tulle lehenga embroidered with lush gold and teamed with a long sleeved choli and striking dupatta. Wearing a deep brown mini and a magnificent multi coloured patchwork long cover, actress Sonali Bendre displayed designer Siddhartha Tytler`s creation. Actress Sonakshi Sinha sashayed down the runway sporting a churidaar kurta for `Karmik`, for which ten leading designers came together to showcase their designs. Bollywood actresses Vidya Malvade, Madhoo Shah, Maria Gorretti, Mini Mathur walked the ramp on the last day of the Lakme Fashion Week for accessory designer Malini Agarwal, whose collection was inspired by contemporary African tribes. Actress Amrita Rao looked radiant as she modeled a flowing ivory panelled gown with colourful embroidery on it for designer Archana Kochhar. Those seen in the front row cheering for their designer friends included Jaya Bachchan, Kajol, Karisma Kapoor, Sridevi, Arjun Rampal, Bipasha Basu, Neha Dhupia, Sonu Nigam, Farhan Akhtar, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Jacky Bhagnani, Ameesha Patel, Minisha Lamba, Suzane Roshan, Ritesh Sidhwani, Jiah Khan, Sajid Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Nargis Fakhri, Amrita Puri, Mahima Chaudhary, Goldie Behl, Mugdha Godse, Poonam Sinha.
