New Delhi: What if you could hold your unborn babies before they were even born? It would be a dream come true for any expecting couple out there. Well, a Russian company is all set to make it happen.
According to a report in the International Business Times (IB Times) Singapore, pregnant women will be able to hold 3D versions of their unborn babies with all the features perfectly projected and in any metal format they want, from silver, gold or in plastic.
As per Embryo 3D, the Russian company in question, the 3D babies will be in the form of print models based on ultrasound photographs.
The company specializes in intricate features of the babies including face, hands, feet and umbilical cord.
How did they come up with the idea? Witnessing many to-be parents worrying about the health of their unborn babies, said Ivan Gridin, head of Embryo 3D.
"I have a friend (who) was worried about the health of her child and wanted to see it," he told RT. "She had an ultrasound several times, but it wasn't enough. I was fond of new technologies at that time and 3D-printing. And I said 'let's print it,'" IB Times reported.
While the initial models were made from plastic, the company soon moved on to covering the plaster models with precious metals.
Yuliana Recun, who got such 3D model made, said: "We ordered a 3D model of our child, which is in my belly now. It is a weird feeling, the child hasn't been born yet and but you can touch it and feel it as it is," the IB Times report said.
