MP: Thirty explosions rock ordnance factory in Jabalpur; at least 20 injured, several feared trapped inside

At least 20 people have reportedly received injuries after over 30 explosions took place at an ordnance factory in Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday.

Bhopal: At least 20 people have reportedly received injuries after over 30 explosions took place at an ordnance factory in Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday.

Nearly 50 fire tenders have been rushed to the Ordnance Factory Khamaria (OFK) where some victims are believed to still be trapped under parts of the structure that have caught fire after a series of explosions.

Meanwhile, those rescued have been rushed to a nearby government hospital while Army personnel have started rescue operation and access to the factory has been restricted.

The Jabalpur authority officials reached the spot and emergency services were put on alert. 

Eyewitnesses said flames that were visible from far away places in the district. At the time of filing report, fire tenders were still fighting to douse the flames, an official told media. 

Though, there was no report of any casualties so far, several people are said to be trapped inside the structure. 

Khamaria police said the explosions occurred in the filling station of the ordnance factory which is located nearly 320 km east of Bhopal.
