Beed: Taking responsibility of the poor performance of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in her constituency, Parli, Maharashtra`s Women and Child Development Minister Pankaja Munde on Thursday offered to resign from her post.

"I take the responsibility of the defeat of the party at 8 out of the 10 seats in Parli," Pankaja told ANI.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) won six seats out of the 10, from Parli which is the home region of Pankaja.

Right behind the Uddhav Thackeray led -party is the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which has won 80 seats.

However, the Congress Party has suffered a major setback as the grand old party was only able to win 31 seats.

Apart from that, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has won seven seats, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has nine, and Asaduddin Owaisi-led All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) secured five wards in the Solapur Municipal Corporation.
