New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party leader and actor Shatrughan Sinha's supporters are reportedly lobbying for JD(U) ticket for his wife Poonam ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls.
The JD(U) is open to the proposal of BJP leader's wife contesting polls from Bankipur or Digha constituencies, the ANI reported quoting its sources.
Even though there has been no official confirmation, the speculations are being made after recent meetings between the Bihar CM and BJP leader.
The two leaders had exchanged warm greetings when they came across each other at the Patna airport last month.
The first waved at each other from their cars in front of the VIP gate of the airport and then shook hands after Nitish came out of his vehicle.
When asked, the Bihar CM said that it was a “chance” meeting.
A meeting between the two leaders had also taken place at Nitish's residence which triggered speculations that the the actor-turned polician was planning to join JD(U), which he strongly denied.
