Retired cop files corruption complaint against LG-appointed Delhi ACB chief Meena

New Delhi: ‎Amid an ongoing power tussle between the Centre and the Delhi government, a retired police officer on Thursday lodged a corruption complaint against the newly-appointed Delhi Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) MK Meena.

According to the Zee Media, retired Delhi Police inspector Jawahar Lal today reached the Delhi Secretariat to file a complaint against ACB chief Meena accusing him of corruption of Rs 20 lakhs in curtain purchase scam.

Lal claims to posses documents which shows that Delhi Police Commissioner had found Meena guilty of corruption in this case.

Lal also reportedly submitted the copy of forged bills used by Meena in connection with the purchase of curtains along with his complaint.

Jawahar Lal also requested Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to ask the ACB to file FIR against Meena and re-open corruption cases involving him.

It is to be noted that the Delhi government had a bitter confrontation with the Centre over Meena's recent appointment as ACB chief by Lt Governor Najeeb Jung.

The AAP government had refused to allow Meena to function as chief of the elite Anti-Corruption Branch even as Delhi Police Commissioner said the LG's order is clear in this regard.

The Delhi government informed Meena that he cannot join the ACB as there is no sanctioned post of joint commissioner in the probe agency but the defiant official said he will follow the Lieutenant Governor's order.

Lt Governor Najeeb Jung had appointed the joint commissioner of Delhi Police as the head of the Anti-Corruption Branch superseding Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's hand-picked chief SS Yadav.
