New Delhi: A day after a media report claimed that Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is planning to buy snooping equipment for its Anti-Corruption Branch, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers staged a protest outside the Delhi Chief Minister’s residence on Saturday.

The news report claimed that the AAP government has readied a Cabinet note approving buying of snooping equipment for the ACB so that its officials could efficiently probe corruption cases.

However, the Delhi government has rejected the media report saying, “There is no proposal by the Delhi government to procure anything called as a snooping equipment and no such cabinet note has been circulated. The channel concerned running this wrong story made no attempt to contact the Delhi government for its version before airing it. The channel seems to have minted its own terminology to falsely show the Delhi government in poor light and defame the ACB.”

Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhay, who was leading the protests today, accused the AAP of trying to break into people's privacy.

We will protest against this move, said Updahyay.

He further asked as to who gave Kejriwal the permission to buy snooping equipment.

Meanwhile, a protester was injured during BJP's agitation against the Kejriwal government.
