Close fight between Modi, Mamata in Bengal; Rahul most popular for PM`s post in Meghalaya: Zee-Taleem Poll Survey

In yet another testament to the possibility that regional satraps may have a say in the formation of government at the Centre, in West Bengal there is a neck and neck fight for the choice for the post of country`s next PM between Bharatiya Janata Party`s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and Trinamool Congress supremo and Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee in a pre-poll survey conducted by Zee Media Corp commissioned through Taleem Research Foundation.

Zee Media Bureau New Delhi: In yet another testament to the possibility that regional satraps may have a say in the formation of government at the Centre, in West Bengal there is a neck and neck fight for the choice for the post of country`s next PM between Bharatiya Janata Party`s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and Trinamool Congress supremo and Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee in a pre-poll survey conducted by Zee Media Corp commissioned through Taleem Research Foundation. Also Read: Modi most popular for PM`s post in Karnataka, Kerala prefers Rahul: Zee-Taleem Poll Survey When asked “In your opinion who would be best Prime Minister..?”, as many as 32.4 percent respondents in West Bengal voted for Narendra Modi while 32.0 percent voted for Mamata Banerjee. Rahul Gandhi was the choice for 11.4% of respondents while 21.6% exercised the `Can`t say` option. Also Read: Narendra Modi most popular for PM`s post in Delhi, Haryana: Zee-Taleem Poll Survey The TMC is poised to bag 20 seats in the states, with BJP, CPI-M and Congress scalping 10, 7 and 5 seats respectively. The survey was conducted with sample size of 960 voters. In Meghalaya however, things looked rosier for the Congress party scion Rahul Gandhi. About 54.6% respondents of the polls felt said Rahul was best suited for the PM`s post. Narendra Modi was the second favourite with 24.6% votes and Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa was favoured by 20.8% of Meghalaya voters. The survey was conducted with sample size of 240 voters.
