Ban Sri Ram Sene all over India: Goa Congress

The Goa unit of Congress today sought a ban on the right-wing organisation Sri Ram Sene throughout India including the neighbouring Karnataka where Congress is in power.

Panaji: The Goa unit of Congress today sought a ban on the right-wing organisation Sri Ram Sene throughout India including the neighbouring Karnataka where Congress is in power.

"Sri Ram Sene should be banned in India. It should be even banned in Karnataka where it is working full-fledged," Goa Congress spokesperson Durgadas Kamat said here.

Pramod Muthalik, Ram Sene chief, was recently admitted into BJP but was thrown out a few hours later following an wide outcry.

Kamat expressed apprehension that Muthalik`s organisation would spread its tentacles in Goa after the Lok Sabha polls.

"His statements are clear. He has dared Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar to stop him and Parrikar has not even reacted to the statement," Kamat said.
"The Congress government has not banned Sene in Karnataka, but his activities have stopped there," Kamat said to a question.
He alleged that BJP had a soft corner for Muthalik, and would not stop him from entering Goa unlike Congress which had banned his entry during the previous Congress-NCP regime. Parrikar was quick to oppose Muthalik`s short-lived entry into BJP earlier this week.
