Cong dismissive of Modi`s bid to reinvent himself

Congress was on Monday dismissive of Narendra Modi`s efforts to reinvent himself in the backdrop of the post-Godhara carnage.

New Delhi: Congress was on Monday dismissive of Narendra Modi`s efforts to reinvent himself in the backdrop of the post-Godhara carnage saying every such attempt by the Gujarat Chief Minister always ends in "absolute failure".
"Complete failure...absolute, utter failure because every
time he (Modi) tries to reinvent himself, truth prevails. That
is the beauty of our democracy," Congress spokesperson Renuka
Chaudhary told reporters here.

She was replying to a question as to how Congress saw
Modi`s recent remarks on harmony in the state and whether it
was an attempt by Modi to reinvent himself in the backdrop of
post-Godhara carnage.

Her comments came on the eve of the 10th anniversary of
the Godhra train carnage.

Modi has said in Ahmedabad that a handful of people
involved in Gujarat bashing are making futile attempts to
disturb peace and unity in the state.

"There might be only five or 25 anti-Gujarat elements
trying in vain all tricks of the trade and mischief to create
hatred afresh between people," he said on the eve of the 10th
anniversary of the Godhra train carnage.

Throwing a challenge to such "disturbing" elements, Modi
said they would not succeed in their sinister designs as the
state has a strong foundation of brotherhood and peace.

"This foundation has resulted in the state gathering
inherent strength to attain new heights of development," he
said.

Chaudhary, however, ridiculed his remarks saying "everyone
knows what is his truth."
