Swine flu has claimed nine more lives in parts of Rajasthan in the last 48 hours, raising the toll due to H1N1 virus to 375 since January this year, an official said on Sunday.

Of the nine, three persons succumbed to the H1N1 virus in Jaipur, and one each in Tonk, Nagaur, Bikaner, Alwar, Sikar and Jhunjhunu.

Out of 6,180 people found positive for the virus, 375 have died of the dreaded disease so far this year, the official of the Medical and Health Directorate said.

This includes the 21 H1N1-patients who had come to Rajasthan for treatment from other states and died in government or private hospitals during the stipulated period, the official said, quoting a new bifurcation of data.

Jaipur has recorded 71 deaths, maximum in the state, followed by Ajmer 41, Jodhpur 33, Nagaur 30, Barmer 23, Kota 18, Chittorgarh 13, Sikar, Udaipur 12 each, Pali 11, Tonk and Jhunjhunu 9 each, Bhilwara 8, Churu and Bikaner 7 each, Dausa and Banswara 6 each, Bharatpur, Alwar and Rajsamand 5 each and one to four at many other places in the state.
