Karnataka for new sand mining policy

The Karnataka government on Thursday said it proposed to implement a separate sand mining policy from next year for coastal districts.

from next year for coastal districts, enabling mining only
from particular areas.

Speaking reporters here, Higher Education Minister VS
Acharya said mining would be permitted only from areas where
sand deposits obstruct a river. Use of machinery would not be
permitted, he added.
