Respite from heavy rains in Karnataka

Maximum temperature in and around Bengaluru was 25.6 degree Celsius, two degrees less than normal and minimum at 20.3 degree Celsius.

Bengaluru: As the south-west monsoon takes a break, there would be a respite from heavy rains in many parts of Karnataka, with sky overcast for the next 24 hours, the Met office said on Friday.

"Barring heavy rain at isolated places in coastal areas, moderate rains will occur in many parts of south and north interior regions but and scattered in Malnad," the office said.

In the old Mysuru region, including Bengaluru, the forecast is a few spells of rain, with strong surface winds and a cloudy sky.

Maximum and minimum temperatures will be 26 degrees and 20 degrees Celsius.

Rains receded in several parts of the state on Thursday, bringing respite to the people from inundation in low-laying areas and disruption in normal life.

Maximum temperature in and around Bengaluru was 25.6 degree Celsius, two degrees less than normal and minimum at 20.3 degree Celsius.
