Afghan Army Chief arrives in Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 23: Afghan Army Chief Gen Bismillah Khan arrived here today on a three-day official visit, which is expected to pave the way for high-level military exchanges between the two countries.

is expected to pave the way for high-level military exchanges
between the two countries.

Khan, the first Afghan Army Chief to come here after
almost two decades, was scheduled to hold a meeting with chief
of the Army Staff Gen N C Vij. However, it could not take
place today as the latter's return from a visit to
Siachen was delayed.

The visiting dignitary will also hold meetings with the
Air Chief S Krishnaswamy and Admiral Madhvendera Singh,
Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee.
