New Delhi: In a shocking case of flouting rules, an Army officer traveled in the cockpit of an passenger aircraft, apparently on invitation by the crew.

As per a news channel report, Thursday, Lt General Ravi Dastane travelled in the cockpit of GoAir flight from Leh to Jammu on Wednesday.

The news channel quoted Army sources, as saying that Lt General had no intention to flout rules and had entered the cockpit only on an invitation by the pilot.

On the other hand the airline claimed that Lt General Dastane was allowed to enter the cockpit as he had a DGCA permit, the report further said.

However, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has rubbished the claims and has taken strong action in the case by grounding both the pilots.
